Track Name: Unicorns
Unicorns

seems i've always been here
watching doors, checking mirrors
fall asleep but there's trouble in a dream
this world's a lie, it's never what it seems

so she said her love was true
faded fast, there's nothing left to lose
yeah i know. you've heard it all before.
burning ships approaching distant shores.

when it fades
i will fly
broken wings
darkest sky.
Track Name: Snowflake
Snowflake

if nothing lasts forever
then why's it hard to sever
a bonded heart in two?

if sleep was made for dreaming
then why'd you wake up screaming?
would you tell me if you knew?

where did you spend last night?
not looking for a fight,
but i still care about you.

the blackest thought is rising.
these days it feels i'm dying.
i'm giving up. it's true.

if we've all got a reason
and everything, a season:
just one thing left to do.

outside the stars are falling.
an emptiness is calling.
the void through darkest blue.

we all end up alone.
this cuts down to the bone.
we long for what we lose.

just know i'll always love you.
there's no one else above you,
and i still care. it's true.
Track Name: Skinned Knees
Skinned Knees

find your way in with skinned knees
you're so skinny. when's the last time you...
nevermind. you don't want to talk about...
you changed your mind. i'll act like i understand.
have a dream. let the dream go.
these pills feel like nothing at all.
guess it's fine if we fake it. smiling, we practice pretend.
when's the last time you meant it?
you've got a secret and good girls don't kiss and then tell.
put my heart in your pocket.
i won't be needing a pulse on this journey through hell.

if you go. if there's no turning back.
close your eyes while i fall through the cracks.
can't live long in a life so incomplete.
why'd i want to? if you'd never receive... my love.

i miss the days when you caught me. held me there,
my life in the palms of your hands.
i bought the promise you sold me. staked it all,
all on your castles of sand.
kingdoms will rise and kingdoms will fall.
find your way back with skinned knees.
i'll choose not to ask questions. change my mind.
the circle starts over again.

in life. in love. you're the light. you're a beacon,
you always have shined through the void.
in sickness. in health.
in all of the things we promised to never destroy.

if you go. if there's no turning back.
close your eyes while i fall through the cracks.
can't live long in a life so incomplete.
why'd i want to? if you'd never receive... my love.
my love.
Track Name: Leaving (Proceed As If)
Leaving (Proceed As If)

hoping
dreaming
drowning in this
screaming
kicking
bleeding
watching you
leaving

is this what you want?
is this what you need?
if you let it go
is it really free?

open up your eyes
you're the greatest thing in this life
we don't have to cry
just come back home tonight

is this what you want?
this is what you need?
if you let it go
is it really free?

and if we pay
the highest cost
is there a monument
for all we've lost?
Track Name: Fever Dream
Fever Dream

when the morning sun slipped through the cracks in her walls
motes of dust they floated through there like thoughts in free fall.
she kissed me then with fingers crossed, a spark in her eyes.
wrapped herself around my body. whispered "baby, you're mine"

her brow was marked with the sweat of some old fever dream.
her stripes slipped across my fingers. she was in my bloodstream.
three days and three nights flew past us, then a knock on the door.
the battles had come to our hometown. the call could not be ignored.

now the morning sun slips down through a cold lifeless sky.
shining down in sterile dispassion, never answering why.
my heart it aches for her always and i'm empty inside.
i'm reaching across the distance. she's not hearing me cry.
